The two Villa legends will take to the Villa Park pitch for Saturday’s Championship game.

Aston Villa have announced that two club legends will be attending the Championship game against Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park on Saturday.

One of the players is Juan Pablo Angel, who joined the Villans from Argentinian club River Plate in 2001 and enjoyed six years in claret and blue.

The retired Colombia international, who plied his trade as a striker, made 192 appearances for Villa, scoring 57 goals, according to Transfermarkt,

Angel played in the MLS after leaving the West Midlands in January 2007 before seeing out his career at Colombia’s Atletico National, hanging up his boots in 2014.

The second player is Martin Laursen, formerly a Denmark international centre-back, who joined Villa from AC Milan in July 2004.

Laursen spent five years in claret and blue, scoring 11 goals and registering four assists in 91 appearances, before retiring in 2009 (Transfermarkt).

On their website, Villa announced that both will be paraded on the pitch at half time, urging fans to cheer and chant their way.
