The Villa Park midfielder has been in superb form for Dean Smith and co this Premier League season.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to praise John McGinn after the midfielder was nominated for September’s Premier League Player of the Month award.
The 24-year-old was one of the stars of Villa’s Championship playoff-winning campaign and he has very much hit the ground running in the top flight for Dean Smith and co.
McGinn already has three goals and one assist from seven Premier League appearances, scoring in the 2-2 draw with Burnley and during the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal, whilst also playing a key role in Villa’s other game in September, the 0-0 draw with West Ham.
As a result, the Scotland international will vie with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Heung-Min Son, Ricardo Pereira and Callum Wilson for the right to be named the best Premier League player in the month just gone.
Here is what some Villa fans said on social media regarding the good news:
McGinn joined Villa in the summer of 2018 from Scottish club Hibernian for an undisclosed fee which The Guardian has reported to be £2.7million and, from his 52 claret and blue appearances, the £25,000-per-week ace (Spotrac) has scored 10 goals and weighed in with 11 assists (Transfermarkt).
