The Villa captain has not played for the Championship club for three months.

Aston Villa have issued their injury updates ahead of Sunday’s Championship clash against Leeds United away at Elland Road.
Top scorer Tammy Abraham will definitely be out due to a shoulder injury, as is defender Kortney Hause, out with a hip issue, and Lovre Kalinic, who picked up a slight knee problem on Croatia duty.
Axel Tuanzebe, meanwhile, was taken off as a precaution in Villa’s win over Bolton Wanderers after rolling his ankle and was rested in the win over Millwall.
However, the Manchester United loanee is now back in contention for the game against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The update that got quite a few fans talking, however, was that of club captain James Chester being back in training after having been nursing a knee problem for several months.
The 30-year-old aggravated the injury on international duty with Wales in November and, whilst Villa had their defensive crisis, he took painkilling injections in order to continue playing.

Following the loan signing of Tyrone Mings, Dean Smith took the opportunity to rest Chester, who has not played since the end of January, according to Transfermarkt.
