A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the club’s latest fitness update, featuring Jack Grealish, Jota and Frederic Guilbert (official Villa website).

Villa Park manager Dean Smith will hope to have Grealish available for the Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, with a provisional training return pencilled in for Thursday.

The Villa captain missed the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool with a calf injury he picked up in the closing stages against Manchester City 10 days ago, plus the League Cup triumph over Wolves.

Jota, who had an operation on his hernia three weeks ago, will be assessed in training as he comes back into the group ahead of the all-West Midlands clash.

Guilbert is also to be assessed by the club’s medical staff after sustaining a dead leg in last weekend’s defeat to the Premier League leaders, initially playing through the pain barrier before coming off on 69 minutes.

Here is what some of the Villa faithful said on social media to the latest claret and blue player developments:

Club captain James Chester, meanwhile, completed 90 minutes for the first time since January as Villa’s Under-23s claimed a 3-2 win over Newcastle in the Premier League 2 on Monday night.
