Some Villa supporters did not enjoy the fact that Dean Smith and co will have to travel away at Burnley in an early New Year’s Day kickoff.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that several of their Premier League fixtures in December and January have been picked for live broadcast.

Villa’s trip to Stamford Bridge to lock horns with Chelsea will now kick off at 7.30pm on Wednesday, December 4 (Amazon Prime) and the Villa Park clash with Leicester will now begin at 2pm on Sunday, December 8 (Sky Sports).

The Villa Park clash with Norwich City on Boxing Day remains a 3pm kick-off but will be available live via Amazon Prime and, perhaps most taxingly for the claret and blue faithful, New Year’s Day will see a 12:30pm kickoff at Burnley’s Turf Moor on New Year’s Day (BT Sport).

The remaining fixtures to be moved from the latest selection batch are Manchester City’s visit of Birmingham, which now kicks off at 4:30pm on Sunday, January 12 (Sky Sports) and the Villa Park clash against Watford, now on Tuesday, January 21, 7:30pm kickoff.

Here is some of the reaction from the Villa fanbase to the club’s Twitter update:

Up next for Dean Smith’s side is Saturday’s Villa Park meeting with Brighton in the Premier League.
