Aston Villa have been heavily linked with Neal Maupay this summer.

Aston Villa have been the busiest Premier League team in the transfer market this summer, and they may not be done signing players just yet.
Villa still need another striker to add to Dean Smith’s ranks, even though they signed Wesley from Club Brugge this summer and still have Jonathan Kodjia.
Smith has already signed a couple of players he’s worked with at Brentford in Jota and Ezri Konsa, but one more is still on his radar.
Last week, the Birmingham Mail claimed that Villa are set to ramp up their interest in signing Brentford hitman Neal Maupay, who worked with Smith at Griffin Park.
Maupay, 22, hit 25 goals in the Championship last season, becoming one of the most feared strikers in English football – and Brentford have so far managed to keep hold of him.
Villa fans are now getting giddy though, believe they can feel that Maupay is set to join the club for two reasons, the first of which being Sheffield United moving for Oliver McBurnie.

The Daily Mail report that a £20million offer is on the table from the Blades, prioritising the Scot over Maupay in a move which may free up the Frenchman for Villa to pounce.
The second is that West London Sport claim Brentford are set to sign Piast Gliwice star Joel Valencia, and having been billed as a forward, Villa fans are excited.
That would be all well and good, but Valencia is primarily at home behind a striker or out wide, meaning he’s more of a replacement for Romaine Sawyers if anything, but only time will tell whether Villa fans are right with their hunches about Maupay.
