Aston Villa picked up a massive victory against Arsenal at home tonight. The result puts Dean Smith’s side out of the relegation zone for the first time in a few months and Premier League safety is in their hands now.

Survival gives Villa a boost in so many different departments. Another season in the top-flight is massive for the club’s status as well their finances.

It also gives them a chance to attract better players and more importantly, it gives them a big boost in their attempts to keep hold of their skipper, Jack Grealish.

The Villa star will have a lot of clubs chasing him this summer. Smith and the club’s fans would love nothing more than to keep hold of him, but Grealish claimed after the game that he isn’t quite sure about his future just yet.

He told Sky Sports: “I’m not too sure (if he had played his last game at Villa Park) at the moment.”

“I have one aim and that’s to keep this club in the Premier League where this whole stadium, this whole club and fan base knows where we belong. That’s all I’m thinking about at the moment and hopefully, we can do that on Sunday.”

Grealish is certainly worthy of playing for one of the best sides in the league. A big move is likely to happen sooner or later but Villa supporters would want nothing more than to keep hold him.

Will he stay if his side stays up this season? It is a lot more likely than if they get relegated, and his comments have given Aston Villa fans some hope of seeing him again as their player next season.

Here’s how a few of them reacted on Twitter.
