The 20-year-old made a second-half appearance in Aston Villa’s 2-2 draw with Hull City yesterday.
It was his first game for the Villans since returning from his fruitful loan spell at Portsmouth earlier this week.
Green, a product of Villa’s academy, got a rousing reception from the home fans when Dean Smith threw him into the action with half-an-hour to play.
And the young attacker has reacted to the occasion on Twitter, before Aston Villa supporters responded.
Green managed five goals in six starts for Pompey across all competitions, including two injury-time winners in the FA Cup.
He also upset the odds with the League One side earlier this month by knocking Norwich out of the competition.
Green certainly has a big future at Aston Villa but will he play often enough? Dean Smith already has the likes of Tammy Abraham – who has 17 Championship goals this season – and Jonathan Kodjia as striking options, so it seems like his best chance of playing regularly is as a winger.
Smith has brilliant wingers in terms of talent, but Yannick Bolasie, Alberto Adomah and Anwar El Ghazi are also fiercely inconsistent.
