Aston Villa travel to north London to take on Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino discussed Aston Villa’s summer transfer business during his pre-match press conference today, and some Villa fans reacted ion Twitter to the Argentine’s comments.
The Villans have spent heavily this summer, spending in excess of £140 million on 12 new players, and because of this, some people have suggested that Dean Smith’s side will struggle to gel together.
In fact, they need look no further than Fulham. The west London outfit spent heavily last summer, and were swiftly relegated back down to the Championship.
And Pochettino drew that comparison today when speaking to reporters, as quoted by Football.London:
“They have signed a lot of players, an amazing investment, but always it is not easy. Look what happened with Fulham last season. The most important is to have time to build the team. You invest a lot of money on players, but it is about making that work.”

Aston Villa seem to be in far better shape than Fulham ever did, however, and Smith has unquestionably spent the club’s money on better players than the Cottagers did 12 months ago.
Smith will be desperate for his side to get off to a good start tomorrow. And his players might just be buoyed by Pochettino’s comments today.
