Aston Villa fans respond to Lewis Brunt’s tweet after signing contract

Aston Villa midfielder Lewis Brunt has signed his first professional contract with the Championship side.

A number of Aston Villa fans have responded to Lewis Brunt’s tweet after the midfielder took to social media to express his delight at signing his first professional contract with the Villans.

Brunt is one of the exciting youngsters coming through at Villa Park. He is currently predominantly plying his trade with the under-18s, but has featured for the under-23s this season, starting in the 1-1 draw against a West Brom side that included a number of first-team players.

And the club have recognised his promise by announcing on their official website that the 18-year-old has signed professional terms with Dean Smith’s side that are currently set to keep him with Villa until 2021.

The announcement prompted the central midfielder to take to Twitter to comment on his pride after agreeing terms with the Championship side.

And in response, a number of Villa supporters have congratulated the youngster and suggested that they hope to see Brunt appearing on Smith’s radar in the near future.

Villa have a very good cluster of central midfielders in the first-team, but if Brunt can get himself in the under-23 side on a regular basis, then perhaps Smith will soon have another option to consider for the senior side.
