Scott Hogan’s Aston Villa future is in doubt after Dean Smith sent him out on loan last season.

Aston Villa supporters have praised Scott Hogan after he scored during their friendly at the weekend.
Villa beat Shrewsbury Town 1-0 yesterday, with Hogan scoring the only goal of the game, and the striker expressed his happiness to be on the scoresheet on social media.
Hogan has had a difficult time at Villa since signing for £12 million (BBC Sport), with injury badly hampering his progress.
The striker was sent out on loan to Sheffield United last season, and looks unlikely to begin the season with Villa this time around.
But claret and blues fans have praised the rapid forward’s attitude.
If Hogan does stay at Villa, he will surely only be a covering option following the signing of Wesley.
Dean Smith’s side are likely to be on the hunt for another forward this summer, and if they sign one then it seems likely that Hogan will go.
