Several Aston Villa fans commented on Twitter after the club posted a video on Twitter showing Rushian Hepburn-Murphy scoring a stunning volley on the training ground.

Hepburn-Murphy has featured fairly prominently this term. He is still awaiting his first league start for the Villans, but has come on as a substitute on five occasions so far this term and started both of the side’s Carabao Cup ties.

The youngster is yet to score at senior level so will need to take every opportunity he can to impress with Steve Bruce able to call upon Tammy Abraham as well as Jonathan Kodjia this season, with the Chelsea striker arriving on loan for the campaign.

But Hepburn-Murphy has certainly given Bruce reason to sit up and take notice. The club have today posted a video from the training ground which shows the prospect scoring a wonderful effort from the edge of the box.

There were some supporters who were impressed by the goal, but there are plenty of negative responses from the fans, with some venting their frustration towards Bruce by suggesting that the piece of brilliance will get the striker sent out on loan.

There was also one fan who jokingly asked whether the dummies placed out on the pitch are Villa’s back-up centre-backs, clearly referencing the confusion over the club’s transfer policy which saw a number of attacking players signed while the defence largely went without strengthening.
