Sunderland are the latest League One side to be linked with the Aston Villa midfielder.

Aston Villa fans make their way to the stadium ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Leeds United at Villa Park on December 23, 2018 in Birmingham, England.

Aston Villa supporters are reacting to reports linking Aaron Tshibola with Sunderland.

The Aston Villa midfielder is ‘in the spotlight’ of Sunderland, according to reports in his native DR Congo.

FootRDC claims Tshibola could ‘bounce back’ with the Mackems, who ‘will have to commit no less than €3 million (around £2.75m)’ to sign him.

But it is unclear whether that sum comprises both a transfer fee and wages or one or the other.

The Daily Mail reported last week that Aston Villa will allow Tshibola to leave for free this summer, three years after they paid Reading £5m for his services.

And with the 24-year-old having recently entered the final 11 months of his Villa Park deal, £2.75m does seem a little steep.

Too steep, in fact, according to the following Aston Villa fans…

Sunderland’s League One rivals, Doncaster Rovers, are also interested in Tshibola, according to The Daily Mail.

The Mackems recently sold another central midfielder, George Honeyman, to Hull.

Tshibola has appeared on just 10 occasions for Aston Villa, who loaned him to Nottingham Forest, Milton Keynes Dons and Kilmarnock.
