Aston Villa earned promotion to the Premier League in May when they beat Derby County in the Championship play-off final.

Aston Villa fans on Twitter have brushed off claims that they are to be investigated for selling their home stadium Villa Park for £56.7 million in order to comply with profit and sustainability rules.
The Times have claimed that Villa are facing an investigation for the sale of Villa Park, which was sold to a company owned by their owners – Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens.
Villa earned promotion to the Premier League in May when they beat Derby County in the Championship play-off final – had they not won that match then more than likely their star players would have been sold.
Rather than being worried about the potential problem in the sale of Villa Park and an investigation into it, the supporters were more concerned that their home stadium was sold for £57 million, which they deem a ‘bargain’.
Villa Park is an old school stadium, which holds just under 43,000 spectators, as the Midlands giants had the biggest home following in the Championship last season.

Nonetheless, Villa will be focusing their attention on making a return to the Premier League, as the last three years outside of England’s top-flight did hit the club hard.
But they have bounced back and after signing five players already this summer, they will be looking to make more strides in the transfer market.
