Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Daily Mail revealed that Norwich’s Emiliano Buendia could still move to the Midlands before Friday’s deadline.

The report states that Dean Smith’s side, as well as Leeds, are keeping tabs on the Argentine playmaker who impressed for the Canaries in his debut Premier League campaign last term.

Buendia netted one goal and set up a further seven, while the Premier League’s official website also reveals he created more big chances than Jack Grealish.

So far this term, he has made one Championship appearance for the recently-relegated outfit.

According to Spotrac, Buendia earns £8k-a-week at Norwich.

The Daily Mail also add that Daniel Farke’s side could demand a huge fee for the 23-year-old midfielder, as he still has four years left on his contract at Carrow Road.

While he seems an obtainable target, Smith must be wary of Leeds’ interest.

The report states that Marcelo Bielsa tried to sign the Mar del Plata-born player before he moved to Norwich in 2018, and will be determined to avoid losing out once again.

If Villa are serious about taking Buendia away from Norfolk, then they must act fast with Friday’s 5pm domestic deadline looming large.
