Aston Villa supporters on Twitter have urged the club to sign Neal Maupay following rumours that Brentford had dropped their asking price for the powerful hitman.

The Sun recently claimed that Sheffield United could be breaking their record transfer for Maupay, who is now being valued at £15 million, after an initial asking price of £22 million.

Villa have already been busy during this summer transfer window, with Club Brugge striker Wesley and Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings being their standout purchases.

Despite signing six players in their preparations for the new Premier League campaign, Villa are seemingly still dipping their hand into the cookie jar in order to improve their squad as best as possible.

After hearing of Maupay’s fee dropping, Villa want their club to go back in for the Brentford man, who will know Dean Smith very well having previously worked with him at Griffin Park.

Maupay has been a devastating goalscorer in the second tier of English football in recent years, as a promotion to a top-tier team, whoever that may be, would be deserved.

Villa supporters want the Frenchman to move to the Midlands because they think they still require more attacking quality in the final third.
