Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce reportedly wants Aston Villa full-back Ahmed Elmohamady.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun over the weekend suggesting that Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is keen on signing Ahmed Elmohamady this summer.
Bruce has signed Elmohamady for three different clubs during his managerial career. As well as bringing him to Villa, he had also brought him for Sunderland and Hull City.
The Sun suggests that Bruce is at loggerheads with the Newcastle recruitment team over a potential move for the Egypt international, with the Magpies keen on landing younger targets.
If Bruce manages to convince the Newcastle decision-makers to pursue a move for Elmohamady, it appears that he will come up against another major stumbling block if the Villans hierarchy view the prospect of the 31-year-old leaving in the same way that the majority of fans seem to.

Elmohamady has been a key figure for Villa since his arrival in 2017, making 86 Championship appearances for the Villans across two seasons. He contributed eight assists as Dean Smith’s men sealed promotion to the Premier League last season.
And the Villa supporters on social media appear to be in no mood to see Elmohamady leave the club this summer, with figures up to £30 million being suggested as the price that the club have to ask for if Bruce does get his way and Newcastle make a move.

Here is what some of the supporters make of the reports…
