The 20-year-old is on loan at Portsmouth and, despite getting little game time, has a good game-to-goal ratio. Some of the Villans faithful want him back.

Aston Villa winger Andre Green is a player being shown plenty of love by his parent club’s fans while plying his trade away on loan.

The 20-year-old is currently at League One club Portsmouth on a deal until the end of the season, with many supporters hoping he will come back to Villa Park having honed his skills further.

Green has endured a bit of a difficult time at Fratton Park thus far, however, seeing his loan spell impacted by injury and a lack of first-team action.

The youngster made two appearances in all competitions following his arrival before being ruled out through injury, only coming back after more than two months out.

All in all, Green has made just seven appearances in all competitions, and just two in League One (Transfermarkt).

However, he made a quick impact after coming off the bench in the 80th minute of Portsmouth’s 2-1 loss to Charlton on Tuesday, scoring eight minutes later.

Although high-flying Pompey could not find a late equaliser and fell to a defeat, the Villa loanee took his tally to an impressive four goals in seven games.
