Aston Villa had been trying to sign Axel Tuanzebe from Manchester United, but it seems like he will sign a new long-term contract at Old Trafford.

Aston Villa fans have been left gutted, as Axel Tuanzebe is reportedly set to sign a new contract at Manchester United.
Tuanzebe signing a contract surely rules out Tuanzebe joining Villa on a permanent basis, after the Daily Mail suggested he could join in an £8 million deal previously.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is now set to hand the 21-year-old a chance to impress over pre-season.
And Villa fans are gutted that Tuanzebe won’t be joining them on a permanent contract, after his impressive loan spell at Villa Park last term.
Tuanzebe’s partnership with Tyrone Mings in the heart of Villa’s defence was one of the key reasons why Dean Smith’s side were able to get promoted.
Villa have struggled to get either Mings or Tuanzebe back so far this summer though.
Smith’s side are already back in pre-season training, and they are currently very short on central defenders for the upcoming campaign.
