The Villa boss, like against Minnesota United, utilised 22 players for the fixture with a different team taking to the field in each half.
New signing Jota was given the opportunity to show what he could do from the start and looked lively on the right flank before the interval.
He combined with teammates such as Jack Grealish, John McGinn and Frederic Guilbert in exciting fashion and already looks like an integral member of the Villa squad.
Signing from rivals Birmingham City in the summer, Jota has a lot to prove.
However, if he can continue making a positive impression in pre-season then he should have a starting spot when the competitive action arrives.
The 28-year-old has La Liga experience but has never played above Championship level in England so has his work cut out.
Nonetheless, supporters seem delighted with the Spaniard’s initial performances, with some taking to Twitter on Sunday to share their thoughts.
