A number of Aston Villa fans are not convinced that they have seen the last of John Terry after his retirement announcement.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to respond to the club’s message to John Terry following the announcement that he has retired as a player – and many are not convinced that the Villans have seen the last of their former defender.
Terry has been without a club since leaving Villa at the end of last season following their play-off final defeat. There has been plenty of speculation regarding what the future held for the centre-back, but he has now confirmed that his playing days are over after a remarkable career on the pitch.
For the Villa fans who have wanted to see Terry return to help bolster a defence that has really struggled in the Championship this season, the news is perhaps disappointing.
But given reports from over the weekend, Terry’s announcement has left plenty of the Villa Park faithful feeling excited.

Terry missed out due to Henry’s greater coaching experience, according to the Mail, but he is still seemingly in contention to make a return to the club where he is unquestionably held in high regard.

And the news that he has retired has prompted a number of Villa fans to put two and two together and suggest that the announcement is practically confirmation that he is Villa Park-bound alongside Henry.
