Dean Smith’s side came from two goals behind to draw 2-2 with in-form Hull City at Villa Park on Saturday.
There were some poor performances from Aston Villa players it has to be said, but there were also some classy ones.
And McGinn, a £2.1 million signing last summer [The Express and Star], was part of the latter bracket.
The tenacious Scot posted yet another high-energy performance in midfield which had plenty of running, but also plenty of quality.
The 25-year-old was comfortably Aston Villa’s best player on the day, and is up there with Tammy Abraham as being one of their players of the season really.

Bruce’s spell at Aston Villa got very stale prior to his sacking in October, but McGinn might well be his finest signing for the Villans.
Whatever they achieve under Smith, McGinn is going to be at the heart of it and although some Villa fans won’t give Bruce credit, he deserves it for snapping up the former Hibernian star for a little over £2 million.
He has been a magnificent signing.
