James Chester has been out of action for Aston Villa since January.

Aston Villa supporters on Twitter are overjoyed to hear that James Chester is potentially back in training after a number of lay-offs.
Dean Smith previously stated that he was ‘hoping’ Chester would return during the international break, which is currently underway, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
Chester has been an unsung hero for Villa. Last season, during the winter period, he was Smith’s only bonafide centre-back playing for the club – Axel Tuanzebe was injured, Tommy Elphick was on-loan at Hull City, whereas Tyrone Mings and Kortney Hause were yet to join.
Despite all those problems, Chester was going through knee issues of his own, but he soldiered on and continued playing for the club during was a difficult period.
By the time Smith could get cover in January – recall Elphick and sign Mings – Chester wouldn’t play again that season as it took him until May to recover from his knee problems.

He was playing during pre-season, but he suffered another setback not soon after, as it seems as though he won’t be too far from returning to action.
This has understandably delighted the Villa Park faithful, who are grateful for what Chester has given to the club, but he will now have to do a lot to dethrone Tyrone Mings and Bjorn Engels from the heart of Villa’s defence.
