Aston Villa fans react to James Chester display against Ipswich Town

Aston Villa won against Ipswich Town at Villa Park in the Championship on Saturday.

Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of James Chester against Ipswich Town.

Chester featured for Villa in their Championship game against Ipswich at Villa Park on Saturday.

The 30-year-old central defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Villans won 2-1.

The Wales international worked hard at the heart of defence and made some important contributions at the back.

According to WhoScored, Chester had a pass accuracy of 86.7%, won three headers, and made one tackle and three clearances.

Villa fans, though, were not impressed with the performance of Chester and have criticised him on Twitter.

Hate to say it because he was our best player last year but Chester needs replacing ASAP he has been horrendous this season. I can only think maybe his not comfortable playing on the left side of defence but even still he shouldnt be playing as bad as he is #avfc

The win against Ipswich means that Villa are now 10th in the Championship table with 42 points from 29 matches, just four points behind Derby County, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.

Dean Smith’s side will return to action next weekend when they take on Reading away from home in the Championship.
