Wilson spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Derby County in the Championship from Premier League club Liverpool.
The 22-year-old winger was one of the best players for the Rams and played a key role in Frank Lampard’s side reaching the Championship playoff final.
According to WhoScored, the Wales international made 40 starts and three substitute appearances in the Championship for Derby this season, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists in the process.
With Derby failing to clinch promotion to the Premier League for the 2019-20 campaign, it is hard to see Wilson return to the Pride Park Stadium for next season.
According to The Mirror, Villa, who won against Derby in the Championship playoff final at Wembley Stadium in London last month, want to sign Wilson from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Dean Smith’s side are among a number of clubs interested in Wilson, with Liverpool claimed to want as much as £21 million to sell the young winger.
