Harold Moukoudi rejected a move to Aston Villa last month.

Aston Villa’s defensive nightmare has been well-documented, and one of their top targets has explained why he snubbed a move to Villa Park.
Villa saw John Terry leave the club when his contract expired this past summer, as did Christopher Samba, leaving Mile Jedinak to play as a makeshift centre back.
Villa did though attempt to bring in centre backs before the loan deadline on August 31st, but they couldn’t secure either of their two young targets in the final hours.
Aberdeen rejected Villa’s offer for Scott McKenna, whilst Le Havre talent Harold Moukoudi flat out refused a move to Villa Park after holding talks.
Moukoudi, 20, has come up through the Le Havre ranks in recent years, and has emerged as one of the top young French defenders, sparking interest in Britain and in Ligue 1.
Villa attempted to secure his signature, offering a loan deal with a permanent clause for January, but Moukoudi rejected the offer and chose to stay with Le Havre.

Moukoudi has this week explained his decision, telling France Bleu that he saw great facilities, but felt Villa’s football was not the same as what he has been playing in France.
Villa fans took that to mean that Moukoudi didn’t want to play in Steve Bruce’s direct style of play and slammed their under fire boss on Twitter for failing to secure the deal, laying the blame at his feet.
