The Aston Villa midfielder could not help his side avoid defeat in their latest match.

Aston Villa’s season continued to splutter over the finish line as they lost 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
The only goal of the game came from Danny Graham as the hosts fought tooth and nail to maintain their Championship status and Villa did little to threaten them.
Steve Bruce’s side have nothing but pride left to play for this season yet that does not forgive their latest below-par performance, with a number of players failing to deliver and putting their long-term futures on the line as a result.
Bruce is likely to make plenty more changes this summer and on this evidence he will have a lengthy list of potential outcasts.
One such player could be Gary Gardner, with the midfielder struggling to make a significant impact despite playing the full 90 minutes on Saturday.

The 24-year-old has signed a new long-term contract at the club until the summer of 2020, but questions have to be asked as to whether he is what Villa need in their fight to return to the top flight next season.
