Dwight Yorke has applied for the Aston Villa managerial role.

Aston Villa fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to recent comments made by Dwight Yorke.
Yorke has told Sky Sports that he has applied for the vacant managerial role at Villa.
“It’s a job I’m 100% interested in, I’ve made it very clear I’d like to speak to the football club,” Yorke told Sky Sports. “Whether that happens or not I’m still waiting on a telephone call.”
The Villans are on the lookout for a new permanent manager following the dismissal of Steve Bruce earlier this week.
Villa have been struggling for positive results in the Championship in recent weeks.
Yorke started his professional club football career at Villa and played for the Villans in the 1980s and the 1990s.
The former Manchester United star does not have first-team managerial experience at club level, and while there is no doubt that he was a great player during his time, there will be an element of risk if Villa decide to make him their new manager.
