Aston Villa beat Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.

Aston Villa moved another step closer to securing a Championship playoff place after beating Bristol City 2-1 at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
Villa went into the game having seven games in a row, but were facing a Robins side who had recently beaten Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion, with playoff hopes of their own.
Villa fans may have been worried as Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings were both unavailable, but Dean Smith still led his side to a fine 2-1 win.
Tammy Abraham’s second half penalty put Villa in front, and Conor Hourihane grabbed the second to make it 2-0, before Famara Diedhiou pulled one back for City.
Villa held on though, making it eight wins in a row and now have a five-point cushion inside the playoffs as they can begin to make plans for beyond the final day of the season.
Whilst Mings and Kortney Hause were both out, Axel Tuanzebe returned to the side and impressed at centre back, but the Manchester United loanee earned plaudits for what he did after the game.

As Villa fans were chanting at the final whistle, Tuanzebe joined in as he showed real passion despite only being on loanee, and being just weeks away from returning to United.
Villa fans saw the video of Tuanzebe’s chanting, and admitted their love for the centre back, urging the club to sign him up if this is the kind of passion he’s willing to show when only on loan.
