Anwar El Ghazi had a disappointing afternoon with Aston Villa today.

There’s no shortage of players for Aston Villa fans to slaughter this evening.
That is because Dean Smith’s side lost 3-0 at Wigan Athletic in what was a rather toothless showing from the Villans.
Aston Villa trailed 1-0 at the break due to a goal from Gary Roberts, before Michael Jacobs and Joe Garner made it something of a rout in the last 10 minutes.
Smith’s troops only mustered some four shots on the Latics’ goal to indicate that their attacking quantities never really showed up – and this is particularly true of Anwar El Ghazi.
The out-of-form Dutch winger was anonymous for 63 minutes, before being replaced with Albert Adomah.
Former Villa boss Steve Bruce signed the 23-year-old on a season-long loan from Lille last summer but overall El Ghazi hasn’t delivered, despite some promising displays here and there.
Here is how Aston Villa fans reacted to his latest performance:
According to BBC Sport, Aston Villa failed to muster a single shot on target, which in itself tells its own story.
Even with 16-goal Tammy Abraham leading the line, Smith’s side weren’t threatening at all in the final third and much of the blame must go to El Ghazi and Yannick Bolasie on both flanks.
