Aston Villa have been linked with Jose Moreira, but there are fears he would have signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers if he was top class.
Aston Villa fans have had a mixed reaction to the news that Andre Moreira is set to sign.
The goalkeeper is set to become Villa’s first signing, and intriguingly is a client of Jorge Mendes.
Mendes has, of course, been very closely linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers in recent times.
And there is a fear from some fans that off Moreira was top quality that Wolves would have taken him before they had a chance.
Wolves have already been highly active in the transfer window, and have brought in Rui Patricio, which rather suggests that they are shopping in a different market to Villa now.
Moreira has never played football outside of Portugal, after a series of loans since signing for Atleti.
Moreira will be in competition with Jed Steer for the number one spot at Villa.
