Albert Adomah really struggled for Aston Villa this afternoon.

Albert Adomah posted quite an anonymous display for Aston Villa today.
Dean Smith’s side beat local rivals Birmingham City 1-0 at St Andrews this afternoon.
Jack Grealish, who scored the second-half winner after being punched by a Birmingham fan, was the hero, but there were some Villans too and Adomah hasn’t emerged from the game with much credit.
The 31-year-old, signed by former Aston Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo back in 2016, has seriously struggled this season, only netting once in 25 outings.
Smith hooked him for Andre Green just after the hour mark, and fans of the Villa Park side weren’t happy with his contribution at all.
The wide areas have been a real problem for Aston Villa this season.
Anwar El-Ghazi blows hot and cold. Adomah, who earns £25,000 per week in the West Midlands [Silly Season], is nowhere near as influential as he once was for the Villans, while Yannick Bolasie had his season-long loan agreement terminated in January.
It makes you wonder how many more goals Tammy Abraham – who has 21 in the Championship this season – would score if he had decent, consistent players to the left and right of him. It doesn’t bear thinking about.
