Aston Villa are reportedly keen on West Brom’s Ahmed Hegazi.

Aston Villa secured the signature of defender Tyrone Mings on Sunday, but one more centre back appears to be on the radar.
Mings’ arrival is a major boost for Villa, who have already signed a centre back and a left back in Kortney Hause and Matt Targett respectively, whilst right back Frederic Guilbert starts his career with Villa this summer.
Yet having seen Axel Tuanzebe’s loan deal end, and a return looking unlikely, Villa are seeking another centre back – and they may look very close to home.
BBC Sport report that Villa want West Bromwich Albion ace Ahmed Hegazi, with Dean Smith and Jesus Garcia Pitarch travelling over to Cairo on Saturday to watch him and teammate Trezeguet in action for Egypt.
Hegazi, 28, has impressed for the Baggies since arriving from Al Ahly in 2017, making a loan move permanent after some strong displays in the Premier League.
Standing at a huge 6ft 4in tall, Hegazi is a strong and dominant figure in the air, but pace is something of a problem for him, which may be a concern to many.

Villa fans have now been taking to Twitter to react to the rumour, with a real split in opinion, as some feel he would be a ‘wow’ addition alongside Mings in the heart of Dean Smith’s defence, even better than Gary Cahill would have been.
Others aren’t convinced, feeling that he is ‘bang average’ and was ‘terrible in the Premier League, calling on Villa to show more ambition than signing a player from their rivals in the Championship.
