Aston Villa fans have taken aim at Ahmed Elmohamady on Twitter.
The Villans slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Bolton on Saturday for a result that might have put paid to their hopes of automatic promotion.
Steve Bruce’s side remain seven points behind second-placed Cardiff, who have a game in hand.
In truth, no Aston Villa player covered himself in glory at Bolton, but Elmohamady, a £1 million signing from Hull City last summer, was particularly poor.
At no point did the Egypt international inspire confidence in regards to defence, and Villa fans have slammed him on Twitter.
On the whole, Elmohamady has had a pretty decent season, much like Aston Villa it has to be said, but Bruce’s troops have now lost two on the bounce since thumping top-of-the-table Wolves last weekend and it’s vitally important that they pick up some form heading into the playoffs.
