Aston Villa added another point to their tally as they look to avoid relegation in 2016.
Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Leicester City on Saturday as Remi Garde’s side continued to show signs that they may not be dead and buried this season after all.
Villa had Rudy Gestede to thank for earning a share of the spoils, with the summer signing coming off the bench in the 67th minute and netting a cracking equaliser just eight minutes later.
The result still leaves Villa with plenty of work to do if they are to climb off the bottom of the table and ultimately out of the Premier League’s relegation zone, but there is a fight in this side that has not been evident for much of the campaign to date.
One player who has impressed since Garde took charge is Jordan Veretout. However the 22-year-old was not at his best against the high-flying Foxes.
The young Frenchman has played 19 matches for Villa this season and he has started each of the club’s last 11 games. But he failed to add to his four recent assists.
