Tommy Elphick has been let go by Aston Villa, with the defender joining Hull City on loan.

Elphick has suggested that he could leave Villa in the January transfer window, after going out on loan to Hull City.
The 29-year-old feels that Bruce’s decision to allow him to leave, even though Villa have a surplus of centre-backs, shows that he is not rated back at his parent club.
“I’m in the last year of my contract at #avfc and something would have to change drastically at the top for me to be wanted back,” Elphick said.
“Bruce gave his blessing for me to go out on loan without many CB’s in the building so that says all you need to know.”
Elphick’s comments have left Villa fans baffled, as they feel he has been treated unfairly by Bruce.
Villa have often had to play Mile Jedinak at centre-back so far this season, such is their lack of natural players in the position.
Bruce appears to rate Jedinak as a central defender, but some Villa supporters have expressed concerns over the Australian playing there.
Villa’s defence still has a great deal to work on, after they were beaten 4-1 by Sheffield United in their most recent match.
