Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce suggested that he wasn’t expecting a busy transfer deadline day.
Bruce played down Villa’s chances of having a busy deadline day, with the experienced boss suggesting Villa may have finished making their additions.
Bruce said, when asked if he was expecting to be busy on deadline day. “I can’t see it, but you never can tell. If something is out there that can improve us then, of course, we will be in a position to add.
“There’s one or two things with younger players which are bubbling along. We’ll see.”
The comments have come as quiet a shock to Villa fans, as Bruce had seemingly been working on signing a striker for much of the month so far.
The claret and blues boss made no secret of his desire to add to his forward line, but those plans may now have changed.
Scott Hogan has managed to find some form for Villa, and it seems that Bruce no longer considers signing a new number nine a top priority.
Villa fans are now worried that Bruce could be making a mistake, and they would like another forward to join before the end of the month.
Villa are currently in fifth place in the Championship table, having won their last four league matches.
