The 55-year-old has achieved four promotions to the Premier League during his managerial career, and Villa will be hoping that he can do the same again having taken Di Matteo’s spot.

Fans Villa fans suggested that they aren’t concerned about his prior allegiances with the Blues, and have even been jealous of Birmingham in the past for having Bruce as their manager – suggesting that supporters will take to Bruce fairly quickly.
