Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan failed to find the back of the net against Preston North End last night.

Scott Hogan failed to impress for Aston Villa last night, as they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Preston North End.
Hogan was selected to start for Villa against Preston, but he failed to make much of an impact in the match.
The former Brentford man had been looking like turning his career at Villa around, but he has been less effective of late.

The Villans are currently without Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah, and the lack of creativity seems to have affected Hogan badly.
The rapid forward has just not looked at all effective, and Villa fans have started to get on his back again.
Villa have failed to win either of their last two matches, which has been a dent to their hopes of making the automatic promotion spaces.
Steve Bruce’s side had climbed into second place in the Championship table, but they have now fallen back into third – and could slip four points behind Cardiff City, if Neil Warnock’s side lose this evening.
Villa are next in action against Sheffield Wednesday, when it will be interesting to see whether Bruce keeps faith in Hogan.
