Aston Villa youngster was on target last night.

Aston Villa striker Rushian Hepburn-Murphy was on target for the club in an entertaining under-23 clash with Fulham.

The game ended 3-3, with Hepburn-Murphy scoring a superb solo goal which had looked set to give Villa the winner.

Fulham equalised with five minutes to go through Polish youngster Mikolaj Kwietniewski.

Andre Green and Tom Leggett had scored earlier for Villa, with George Williams and Jon Dagur Thornsteinsson on target for Fulham.

Hepburn-Murphy’s goal was the pick of the bunch, and would have been a worthy winner had Villa’s defence held up.

His goal underlined the potential which has clubs on the lookout for his signature. Hepburn-Murphy’s current deal is set to expire in June.

The Sun reported last night ahead of the game that Villa are confident of getting the teenager to renew his deal, amid interest from Manchester City and Glasgow Rangers.

With last season’s outcast Gabby Agbonlahor returned to the side in recent weeks, and offering very little, calls are increasing for Villa to give young Hepburn-Murphy an opportunity.
