Aston Villa are said to be hunting Stoke City forward Jonathan Walters.

Aston Villa fans generally appear to be keen to see Steve Bruce snap up Jonathan Walters from Stoke City.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Villa are set to make a bid for Walters this summer.

It is thought that the 33-year-old could leave Stoke, in search of more regular first-team football.

And claret and blues fans on social media website Twitter feel that Walters would improve Steve Bruce’s options at Villa Park.

Walters is unlikely to command a big price tag, if he is to leave Stoke, due to his advancing years.

The veteran forward is entering the twilight stage of his career, but still offered some value to Stoke last season.

Walters scored four goals and claimed two assists in 23 Premier League appearances for Stoke last season.

Villa have already made a big statement in the transfer market today, by snapping up John Terry on a free transfer.
