Aston Villa and Newcastle United will renew their rivalry in the Premier League next season.

Aston Villa fans on Twitter are not keen on the club potentially signing Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle this summer amid rumours.
Birmingham Live are claiming that Newcastle’s back-up option Gayle, who was on loan at West Brom during the recently concluded season, is a potential target for Villa this summer.
It is said that the Midlands outfit, who recently earned promotion to the Premier League, are looking for reinforcements as they make their return to the big time.
Gayle’s last game was against Villa when he was sent off during the first leg of their play-off semi-final showdown at Villa Park – Albion went onto lose the encounter 2-1 and lost the return leg on penalties.
Nonetheless, 28-year-old Gayle has experience in his locker, but whether it be during his time at Newcastle or Crystal Palace, he is yet to prove his worth in England’s top-flight.
There is no doubting his ability in the Championship but given his record in the Premier League that is perhaps why Villa supporters aren’t too keen on a deal for pacy forward.
Here is a selection of Aston Villa fans on Twitter reacting to those Gayle rumours:
During the recently concluded Championship season, West Brom finished in the play-off places with Gayle’s 23 goals in 39 matches [transfermarkt] playing a huge part in their league position.
In the game he was sent off against Villa, he also scored in, just like he did during the regular season when Albion recorded a 2-2 draw against their Midland rivals at the Hawthorns in December.
