Aston Villa supporters on Twitter have reacted in a mixed fashion after Leeds United and Norwich City scored late goals in a number of thrilling games on Boxing Day.

Championship leaders Leeds, who scored a stoppage-time winner at Villa over the weekend, were at it again but this time on home soil against Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers defender Charlie Mulgrew thought he had won all three points for his side when he scored in the 90th-minute, but Kemar Roofe managed to win all the points for his side by scoring two goals deep into injury-time.

For second-placed Norwich, they were 3-0 down against Nottingham Forest with less than 15 minutes left on the clock at Carrow Road.

Daniel Farke’s side pulled a goal back in the 77th minute before Oriel Hernandez netted twice in stoppage-time, which snatched a point for the home team.

Villa supporters, whose side beat Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium with goalkeeper Orjan Nyland saving a 90th-minute penalty, couldn’t believe the fightback from both clubs.

One fan on Twitter stated that ‘this league is mental’, whilst others wished Leeds ‘good luck’ because they feel that Marcelo Bielsa’s side ‘look the part’.

Another supporter labelled both clubs as ‘the jammiest teams’ as they both currently occupy first and second place in an intriguing race for promotion.
