It may be the international break, but Aston Villa fans will certainly be happy with their new signing Jonathan Kodjia, before he’s even played a game for the club.
Kodjia, 26, completed a huge move to Villa Park on Tuesday, leaving Bristol City just one year after arriving from French side Angers.

With 19 goals last season, Kodjia starred for the Robins, and as reported by BBC Sport, Villa ended up paying £11m up front for the striker, with the deal potentially reaching a whopping £15m.
Kodjia is in line to make his Villa debut against Nottingham Forest next weekend, but this weekend, he’s been in action for Ivory Coast in their attempts to quality for the African Cup of Nations.

Michel Dussuyer’s men were in action against Sierra Leone on Saturday, and it was Kodjia who opened the scoring with a superb overhead kick, before Kei Kamara grabbed a late equaliser for Sierra Leone.
Ivory Coast have now qualified for January’s African Cup of Nations as they look to retain their title, and Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Kodjia’s acrobatic goal.

Many fans are unsurprisingly excited by Kodjia’s goal, hoping that he can replicate such efforts during his time at Villa, with some even suggesting that the goal could have bumped up the price Villa needed to pay had the transfer window still been open.
Others looked to a potential negative though, as Kodjia’s goal means that Ivory Coast have qualified for the African Cup of Nations, and the striker is now set to miss a host of Villa games in 2017 as a result.
