Aston Villa are linked with the Premier League goalkeeper – and their fans would love it.
Aston Villa fans have been spoiled by the signing of John Terry, but a lot of them are quite keen on also getting his former England team-mate Joe Hart.
Hart is now 15/8 with Sky Bet to join Aston Villa this summer, having been as high as 8/1 last week and fans of the Villans are certainly getting exicted about such a prospect.
Manager Steve Bruce is in the market for a goalkeeper and has seemingly been chasing Manchester United’s Sam Johnstone – who spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa Park – for much of the summer so far.
But Hart, 30, would boost their Premier League promotion chances considerably, and supporters of the West Midlands outfit are loving the speculation.
It is called silly season for a reason and that reason is because of tentative speculation such as this.
Then again, it seemed rather unrealistic that Aston Villa would sign Terry a couple of weeks ago, and yet there he was, belting out Stand By Me in his initiation this week.
Still, Hart, who earns £130,000-a-week with Manchester City according to The Sun, would arguably be a bigger surprise, given that he is significantly younger and still good enough for the Premier League.
But time will tell.
