Jack Grealish returned to the Aston Villa squad over the weekend and helped them thump Derby County in the Championship.
Aston Villa fans on Twitter have reacted in a positive manner to Jamie Redknapp claiming that Jack Grealish is the ‘best player’ outside of the Premier League.
Sky Sports pundit Redknapp also told the Daily Mail that if Grealish had been fit for Villa in recent weeks then they would be in the play-offs at this moment in time.
The 23-year-old, who had been on the sidelines since December, returned to action for Dean Smith’s side over the weekend and helped them to a stunning 4-0 win over Derby County.
All four goals came in the first half, with Grealish scoring a sublime volley from the edge of the area to top off what was arguably the best football Villa have played since going down to the Championship.
Nonetheless, Redknapp’s comments pleased the Villa faithful on social media with one fan joking that he is ‘better than Messi’, while another believes that’s Grealish ‘sold’.

Despite Villa’s thumping win, it is highly likely that they will miss the chance to finish in the top six and secure a play off spot at the end of the season.
Given Grealish’s talent and form, the Midlands club will do very well do prize away any Premier League interest for him in the summer because his presence in the Villa team next season would be a big boost to everyone.
Nonetheless, boyhood Villa fan Grealish will now turn his attention to Sunday and the Second City derby against bitter rivals Birmingham City.
