Aston Villa could reportedly sign another player because defender James Chester is struggling to train.

Aston Villa supporters on Twitter are not surprised to hear that James Chester has been unable to train at times as he battles a knee injury.
The Birmingham Mail claims that the Championship outfit could dip into the transfer market and sign another centre-back because of Chester’s troubles.
Centre-back Chester has only missed one league match this season, and that was through suspension, having been an ever-present for the club during the previous campaign.
For the majority, Villa have struggled from a defensive standpoint, conceding 45 goals from their 28 league matches, with Chester having numerous partners at the heart of the club’s defence.
On Saturday, Tommy Elphick played alongside Villa’s key man, with Axel Tuanzebe, James Bree, Mile Jedinak and Kortney Hause other players to have occupied that position.
Nonetheless, a lot of Villa fans on Twitter were full of praise for Chester after the worrying news about his injury became public with one supporter stating that it ‘explains a lot’.

Another Villa fan pointed out that the Welshman has ‘carried the club’ in recent years and deserves a ‘lifetime contract’, while others urged manager Dean Smith to rest him.

Villa recorded a 2-2 draw at home to Hull City over the weekend, with Chester getting on the scoresheet and posting his fifth goal of the season.
This Saturday, Smith’s side will take on bottom-of-the-table Ipswich Town at Villa Park, with opposition manager Paul Lambert making a return to his old club.
