Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Harry Arter this month.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports emerging from The Irish Independent over the weekend which have suggested that the Villans could be interested in signing Harry Arter this month.

Arter has been a regular in Cardiff City’s side since joining on loan from Bournemouth during the summer. But it appears that there is a question mark lingering over his future in south Wales.

The Irish Independent reports that he could be recalled from his loan spell and sold by the Cherries this month, and Villa are one of the teams interested in potentially pursuing a deal for the Republic of Ireland international.

Understandably, there are plenty of sceptical supporters on social media. Arter – who earns £40,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – is playing regularly in the top flight, so it is not immediately clear why he would make the move into the Championship during this window.

But several of the fans on Twitter believe that he could prove to be a fantastic addition to the Villans’ ranks as Dean Smith’s men look to get themselves back in the promotion hunt in the second tier.

Arter would undoubtedly improve Villa’s midfield options and be an excellent signing if they can afford such a deal. However, it must be noted that some supporters are more concerned about other areas of the squad with the transfer deadline emerging on the horizon.
