Jack Grealish will be hoping to stake his claim for England now Aston Villa are in the Premier League.

Aston Villa supporters on Twitter have provided mixed views on Gary Neville’s strong comments about Jack Grealish during England’s UEFA Nations League game against Switzerland on Sunday.
Speaking to Sky Sports on the 50th-minute mark of the game (09/06/2019), former England coach Neville made his feelings clear about Grealish previously wanting ‘assurances’ about playing for the country of his birth.
Playmaker Grealish, who was recently promoted to the Premier League with his boyhood club, previously played for the Republic of Ireland’s younger age groups before making a switch to England.
Neville’s comments sparked mixed views from the Villa Park faithful, with some agreeing with the former Manchester United players comments, whilst others were very critical of him.
One Villa supporter pointed out that England were the ones who were trying to persuade Grealish to play for England, not the other way around, whilst others simply stated that Neville’s comments were ‘fair’.

The former player turned TV pundit worked as a coach for England around the time (in 2015), Grealish switched allegiances, so more than likely he would have had some inside knowledge on the matter.
One thing the Villa Park faithful will agree on and that is that they’d like to see Grealish earning a senior call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad now he is a top-flight footballer.
Here is a selection of Villa fans on Twitter reacting to Neville’s comments on Grealish:
Grealish was a standout performer for Villa in the Championship and regarded as one of the best, if not the best player in the division.
Now that Villa have returned to the big time, he will want to prove his worth on the biggest stage of them all and push his name forward for a senior call-up to the national team.
