Aston Villa beat Reading 2-1 in Championship action last night.

Gary Gardner has received praise from Aston Villa fans for his performance against Reading yesterday evening.
Gardner was part of the Villa side who went to the Madejski Stadium and won 2-1 last night.
The central midfielder helped to create Villa’s first goal of the night for Jonathan Kodjia, and he generally impressed with the way he performed.

The win was Villa’s first triumph on their travels for 14 months, and it came in dramatic fashion.
Reading had equalised after Kodjia’s first half strike, but a last minute penalty from Jordan Ayew ensured that Steve Bruce’s side got the three points.
Gardner’s joy was easy to see at full-time, after what has been a frustrating season for him so far.

Gardner was criticised for the performances he put in under the stewardship of Roberto Di Matteo, and ultimately taken out of Villa’s first-team.
However, Bruce appears to have seen something in the England youth international and Villa fans were pleased with his performance last night. Here is the best reaction on social media website Twitter.
